Last month, Car and Driver did a review of the new 2017 F-250 Super Duty. If a long test-drive article is too much to read, we'll sum up their impressions TL;DR style.

The Good: F-250 Super Duty is a Powerhouse

The 2017 F-250 is available with two engine options. The basic gasoline engine is what Car and Driver used for their test—a 6.2-liter V8, boasting 385 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque. The Super Duty's most powerful offering is its 6.7-liter Power Stroke Turbo Diesel with 440 horsepower and 925 pound-feet torque.

In Car and Driver's testing, the smaller gas engine still roared to 60 mph in 6.7 seconds, and was rated to tow 12,600 pounds. The more powerful diesel is rated for up to 21,000 pounds of towing.

The Bad: Poor Fuel Economy & Austere Interior

Unlike its more lifestyle-oriented F-150 stablemate, the Ford Super Duty is first and foremost a work truck. Its heavy curb weight means it guzzles fuel, averaging only 13 mpg in Car and Driver's test. They also tested the base trim level, which generally marketed toward fleet use. Package upgrades were available, but without them, technology was lacking.
